The wait is over: The Coffee Pod Recycler V2 is here, and it is now compatible with Nespresso OriginalLine capsules.
If you love the taste and convenience of Nespresso but hate the waste, this launch is for you.
At The Coffee Pod Recycling Co., we started with a simple question: why should convenience come at the cost of the planet? Our original Coffee Pod Recycler gave Keurig users a simple, low-tech way to take apart used pods so the coffee grounds and plastic could be handled more responsibly instead of going straight into the trash. That was the first step. The Coffee Pod Recycler V2 is the next.
The Coffee Pod Recycler V2 is designed specifically for Nespresso OriginalLine capsules, the small aluminum pods used in many popular machines. This new version is a compact, manual tool that makes it easy to open a used capsule, remove the coffee grounds, and separate the aluminum shell so each part can go where it belongs. The grounds can head to compost or organic waste streams where available, and the aluminum can be cleaned up for recycling under local guidelines.
We built V2 to slot right into your daily coffee ritual. You brew your espresso like you always do. After you are done enjoying your drink, you place the used capsule into the Coffee Pod Recycler V2. With a simple press and twist, the device opens the capsule and loosens the packed grounds inside. From there, you tap or scoop the grounds into your compost bin and set the empty capsule aside for recycling. It is quick, tactile, and satisfying, and it turns what would have been trash into recoverable material in just a few seconds.
Nespresso has long promoted the recyclability of its aluminum capsules, but in practice a lot of pods never make it into a proper recycling stream. People are often busy, do not want to deal with mail-back programs, or live in places where mixed coffee-filled capsules are not accepted in curbside bins. The Coffee Pod Recycler V2 gives you control over that problem in your own kitchen. It lowers the barrier between “I wish I could recycle these” and actually doing it every day.
We also designed V2 for real-world kitchen counters. It has a small footprint so it can sit next to your machine without taking over the whole space. It is durable enough for daily use and easy to rinse or wipe down after a quick recycling session. There are no electronics, no charging cables, and no apps to update. It is a simple, re-usable tool that does one job well: helping you keep coffee capsules out of landfills.
If you are a Keurig user, you are still part of this story. Our original Coffee Pod Recycler V1 for K-Cup style pods remains available. Many households now have both a drip or pod brewer and a Nespresso machine, and our goal is to support that reality. V1 handles your plastic-based pods, V2 handles your aluminum Nespresso OriginalLine capsules, and together they give you a more sustainable way to enjoy the convenience of single-serve coffee.
Why does this matter? Because every capsule you divert from the trash is one small but meaningful step away from a throwaway culture. With V2, you are helping send clean aluminum back into the recycling stream and keeping nutrient-rich coffee grounds on a path that can be far more useful than sitting buried in a landfill. It is not a silver bullet for the world’s waste problems, but habits like this add up, especially when repeated every morning.
The Coffee Pod Recycler V2 for Nespresso OriginalLine capsules is now officially launched. You can order your unit, pair it with our Keurig-compatible V1 if you use both systems, and make your coffee corner a little greener with each cup. Share it with a friend, a roommate, or a coworker who lives on espresso and wants an easier way to do the right thing.
We know we will not fix global waste overnight, but we believe that convenience and responsibility do not have to be enemies. The Coffee Pod Recycler V2 is our latest step toward a world where single-serve coffee does not automatically mean single-use waste. Thanks for brewing with us, caring with us, and recycling with us, one small capsule at a time.
Sincerely,
The Team
